How to make homemade mulled wine with a quick and easy recipe and a full traditional warm and spicy recipe.
Cradle a warming glass of mulled wine in your hands and it is more than just a drink it is a cup of memories. They may be different for everyone, or perhaps the same. For me, the warmth of the glass, the smell of the warmed wine and spices evoke memories of winters past. Of sitting by an open roaring fire, flickering flames, spitting wood. Feeling the heat from the fire on my face. Listening to family chatter or music in the background.
Or of times where I would visit local Christmas night markets and they’d serve hot mulled wine from large canvas tents and I’d cradle the wine between gloved hands the steam and the warms holding back the chill. The sounds of Christmas carols of the bustle of shoppers and the lights of the tents of the vendors.
What memories does this warming spicy drink hold for you? Perhaps you are about to make new memories?
